Edible Thanksgiving Turkeys

Materials:

Microwave Oven
Bag of Candy Corn
Bag of Carmel Candy squares
Bag of Dove Chocolate
Bag of Striped Chocolate Chip Cookies
Thanksgiving Cup Cake Liners
Microwavable Plate

How to Make It:

Unwrap a piece of Dove chocolate to use as the base of the turkey. Place it on the microwavable plate.
Unwrap a piece of carmel and stick on top of the Dove chocolate bar for the turkey's body.
Take a piece of candy corn and push down on top of the carmel(pointed end out. This makes the turkey's beak.
Take another piece of carmel and push down on top of the first carmel. This makes the turkey's head.
Break off the white ends of two pieces of candy corn and push in the top carmel for the eyes (see picture).
Take one striped chocolate chip cookie and apply to the back of the body to form the feathers.
Put the turkey in the microwave for a few seconds to about 8 seconds so the candy and cookie will fuse together. (WATCH this! Not too much time or it will melt.)
Serve in the Thanksgiving cup cake liner.




Turkey Toothpick Holder

Materials:

1 1/2" terracotta pot
Popsiscle stick
Tacky glue
Tiny wiggle eyes
Feathers - orange, brown, black (or make some out of foam or paper).
Fun foam or construction paper in black, brown, orange and red.

How to Make It:

Draw a turkey head and neck on the brown paper or foam. Make a little pilgrim hat with the black paper or foam. Glue the head/neck to the popsicle stick, then glue the hat on top. Add the wiggle eyes, an orange beak and a red wattle.

Glue the popsicle stick to the inside of the pot.

Glue some feathers to the back of the pot. You can also glue some feathers to the side of the pot for wings.



Thanksgiving Votive Candle Holder

Materials:

Baby Food Jar
Thanksgiving or Fall Stickers
White glue like Elmer's
Paintbrush
Glitter (optional)
Raffia or Ribbon

How to Make It:

Apply stickers all around the jar. Press firmly all around the stickers.
Using a paintbrush, completely cover the jar sides from right below the jar threads to the bottom of the jar with the glue.
Sprinkle with glitter if desired and let dry.
Tie raffia or ribbon around the jar threads.
Insert a votive candle and display as a center piece.




Thanksgiving Place Cards

Materials:

Paper napkin in fall colors
Small paper clips
Small apple any color
Almond, in shell
Peanut, in shell
1 Lifesaver candy
2 wiggle eyes
Colored paper
Hot glue gun or tacky glue

How to Make It:

Glue eyes to almond and let dry. Hold the almond point down and glue eyes to the rounded part.
Glue the lifesaver to the front of the apple and let dry (glue the lifesaver on the apple's shoulders)
With tacky glue or hot glue glue almond to lifesaver(covering the hole point down) and let dry.
Glue peanut below the almond for turkey wattle.
Unfold napkin halfway, then fold accordian style.
Put paper clip in center of folded napkin.
Pull ends of folded napkin together to make a fan. Secure with paper clip at top. Sit napkin behind turkey.
Unbend one end of paper clip and insert in apple.
Use colored paper to make place card
Use inserted paper clip to hold card
